About my Scot friend, Andrew

Picture
It is with sadness and a heavy heart that I had to say goodbye to my good friend Andrew in July, 2018.  He was dearly loved in Smailholm village.  He made the village come alive each spring with the flowers he planted all around the village.
---------------------------------------------------
Andrew Fairley comes from the southern section of Scotland known as "The Borders" because of its common border with
England.  He lives in the small village of Smailholm near Edinburgh.

Andrew has sung for many years in his native land both as a soloist and with a Scottish country dance band.  He has appeared on BBC Radio Tweed and BBC Canada and also at the famous Fringe Festival in Edinburgh.  In January, he is in great demand to sing at the various celebrations held the world over to honor the birthday of the Scottish poet Robert Burns.  Andrew has visited the USA for the last several Januaries to sing at "Burns' Dinners" both public and private in Lexington, and Louisville, Kentucky, and Cincinnati, Ohio, as well as other Scottish functions.

When not singing, Andrew runs his own landscape gardening business and keeps very busy carrying on the great Scottish
tradition of dry stone masonry.  Andrew's singing also carries on the great tradition of the famous Scottish Border Balladeers.  His rich baritone voice and his charming Scottish manner will please and delight you as it has audiences both here in the USA and abroad.
