A little about me . . .

I started taking piano lessons when I was 6 months old. My crib would be placed next to the piano where I would lay and reach out with my hands (at first only one hand at a time) and practice my scales.
But seriously . . . below is a portion of an article by J.Morse and used with his permission . . .
Claire has become a fixture at the Lexington, Kentucky, musical scene with her enchanting arrangements of popular songs, but there are years of classical training behind each of those songs. Claire's musical training which began when she was four years old, have taken her from Ohio to Austria.
Claire studied piano at Cleveland, Ohio's Oberlin Conservatory and has a degree in piano performance. Upon returning to Lexington, she worked at the then well known Lafayette Hotel. Later she began
performing at the La Flame Supper Club before settling in to play at The Campbell House Inn and Suites for 20 years. Claire has been called upon for special performing engagements away from the Campbell House Inn many times over the years. In 1984 she traveled to New York to play for a reception in honor of celebrated opera virtuoso, Luciano Pavarotti, who spent the evening singing Italian folk songs to Claire's accompaniment.
Only a few of her other accomplishments include: recording a sound track for a Peanuts TV Special; playing for former Governor A B "Happy Chandler's album; playing in New York and Los Angeles for the Al Jolsen Centennial Celebration; touring with the USO; plus many others. Claire takes a lot of pride in being able to play most any request asked of her. Over the years her repertoire of songs has increased to the point she is able to play for, and please most any audience.
Throughout the years of playing the piano, Claire has always maintained a position of church musician, primarily at the piano, but also the church organ when needed. Claire is currently pianist at Anchor Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky. Claire is also a member of the Young at Heart Big Band which is made up of all volunteers. The Young at Heart Big Band plays primarily in the Central Kentucky area. One of their missions is providing musical instruments to needy elementary and middle school students.
